So... I love painting rooms, but I haven't painted since I was in high school because ever since then I have lived in an apartment. And... well... we still live in an apartment, but I can't tell you how much I can't stand the nasty off white kind of yellow color that someone chose to paint every surface of our little two bedroom home. Almost every apartment seems to be this way. So anyways... I've been wanting to paint this room since the day we moved in, but the knowledge that I'm going to have to paint it back to that horrible shade of yellow when we move out has made me hold back. But after a very stressful morning on Friday, I decided to make myself feel better by doing what I've been wanting to do for the past year and a half. And let me tell you... it just makes me so happy. Every time I walk into the room I feel like saying, "Look at what I've done!" And it's permanent. What I mean is that everyday I'm cleaning the kitchen or going through papers or doing wash and folding clothes, and those are things that are undone within hours (and sometimes seconds), but now I've fixed something and it's still there! I was only going to paint the wall with the fireplace, but I thought that looked so good that I had to keep on going (plus... I happened to have enough paint). So anyways... here is my new wall! You probably aren't as excited about this as me... but that's okay.
Oh yeah... I painted the mantel white too... it's different then the off white color it used to be.

I hate painting. And I have a whole house of off-white blah. I need to borrow some Renfroe painting energy.
I love it! Living in Base Housing we will always have to paint our walls back to the horrible color. The first thing we did here was paint two big accent walls. Everything in the military is so uniform so it is nice to have something that is my own. I love painting, I just wish my husband did too.
Hey, that's the color of my living room. I love it!
I hate painting but I love the feeling of success when your finished. It makes it all your own now and your style. It makes it seem a bit more like Home.
Good job Kathryn! It looks great. :) I love doing things that make me happy every time I see them. :)
Love it! See, I told you to just do it! I will help you paint it back when the day comes. You have inspired me, now I need to paint my walls. Have been waiting to do it now for 3 months. Gotta do it!
I can't wait until I can paint my house. White walls = BLAH! Looks cute!
Nice work!!! A little paint can make any room better!

We just got done painting the house we bought...I'm NO good with a roller, but I can edge VERY well! LOL If I'd known how much you liked painting....we would have had ya help!
I completely and TOTALLY understand... especially about the 'permanent' thing.
AND... the color looks awesome.
AND... on a funny side note. We have that EXACT same fireplace in our little house!
