We drove up to DC and spent Thanksgiving with my cousin (Kristin) and her family and then Jena (my sister) came down from New Jersey to be with us. Even though the drive was long I'm SO glad we went. I haven't even met Kristin's kids until now and I haven't spent good time with Kristin since before Boyd and I got married (except for her quick trip down here with Jena a few months ago). When it comes to best friends she is right there with my sisters and I love her so much.
I'm also glad we went because it was some of the best Thanksgiving food I've ever had. Brandon (Kristin's Husband) smoked the turkey. Woah! that was so good. They are from Texas... so they know about cooking meat right. Anyways... they were great hosts and we also took some time to see the smithsonian and the DC Temple. Here's the pics.

cute kids... they had a blast together.

Chase and Peyton!

Jena and Josh... lookin good.

waiting for the train (nice smile Chase).

We're in DC! Yeah!

Jacob (Kristin's oldest)... I just loved this picture.

Chase, Zachery, and Ben eating their popsicles... so cute.

Ben couldn't wait to see the airplanes. The only other time I was in DC was when my oldest sister was married (I was 13) and my dad took us all to the Air Space museum. I think my dad knows everything about everything in that Museum. I remember a group gathering around him because they thought he was a tour guide. For those of you who know my dad... you could picture it.

By the time we got to the Natural History Museum Ben and Chase were done... even though Ben had been waiting to see the Dinosaurs.

DC Temple! Beautiful!!! It's Heather and Mark's Temple!

It was so cold Ben refused to get out of the stroller to take pictures. I don't blame the kid... one day he's playing in the hose and the next he's wearing gloves and a hat... how does that work?
